Aurora

Aurora is Jacob Böhme’s first work, written in 1612. The Dutch translation made by the poet and engraver Jan Luyken in 1686 is the first book in the collection of the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica. The founder, Joost Ritman, received the book on his 23rd birthday as a gift from his mother, together with a few other Dutch-language editions of Böhme’s works. This gift marks the birth of a collection that has evolved into what it is today: a collection that is partly inspired by Böhme and all his predecessors and successors and by Hermetic thinkers, alchemists and Rosicrucians.
